Care Day 2019

Our Employability Service (in partnership with Include Youth) and our 18+ Mentoring Service were represented at this year's Care Day event - below is a summary of how the day progressed. Thanks to everyone who came along!

9.30AM: Preparations underway for Care Day … rooms being set up, stands assembled. Excitement is kicking in!

12.30PM: Start360’s Acupuncture staff, Include Youth’s Meant to Work and Give & Take staff and the Nail Artist are in the building.

12.45PM: High numbers of young people begin to arrive.

1PM: A selection of hot and cold food arrives- everyone gets tucked in! Cupcakes made by 1 of the PAs are distributed. The chocolate fudge cupcakes are amazing!!!

1.30PM: Acupuncture room filled with people wanting this Alternative Therapy – particularly young men.

1.45PM: MUA arrives and young people are keen to get their glam on.

2PM: Young people keen on getting their nails done and choosing a colour from the extensive range of colours available.

2.15PM: Meant 2 Work and Give & Take are providing information on their Projects.

2.30PM: Large group photo taken on the stairs of Wellington Park – Staff, young people and their children are all in the photos.

2.30PM: The Barber arrives and it is a big hit with the boys!! Free haircuts on the go in the Young People’s kitchen area.

3PM: All services still on offer

3.15PM: Acupuncture finishes for the day, YP feeling very relaxed – A BIG Thank You to Melissa Frame from Start360 for delivering this service.

3.30PM: Some young people are leaving the building whilst others are still receiving their treatments of haircuts, nails, make up.

What a brilliant day!
