AD:EPT2 is a throughcare service for those leaving custody who have identified issues with their alcohol use.
Clients are supported for six weeks pre-release and up to six months post-release. AD:EPT2 provides help with reducing or ceasing substance use, finding accommodation, improving wellbeing, sorting out finances and moving into training or employment.
‘You build that bond before you come out. On other projects, they don’t know anything about you. But on this one they get to know you, know your personality.– AD:EPT2 Service User
AD:EPT2 also provides dedicated support for families whose loved ones
are returning home from custody. It was moral support for me when he
came out of prison – I found it hard to adjust to having him home –
especially after he’d been away for 15 years.– AD:EPT2 Significant
The family support can include help with addiction, relationships,
mental health, isolation, financial hardship, family issues, advocacy
and emotional support, as well as making links to other relevant
statutory, community and voluntary agencies.
